Return to soccer
The Gait Lab uses state-of-the-art, research grade technology for the return to sport testing. The accuracy of the data is unbeatable, giving you results that you can count of. Leave the test with a reliable, individualized summary of both the gait analysis and the force plate leg press tests.
1) The Gait Analysis Test
Why do a gait analysis test for sports that aren’t specifically running?
We have solid research that shows lingering issues for years after many sports related injuries. For example, athletes who have have ACL injuries and repairs can have detectable loading issues to their affected knee for up to 5 years after the repair. These issues show up on the gait analysis tests as stiffer knee flexion during landing and while on the ground compared to the other (non-injured) side. We can also detect ongoing instability at the ankle, knee or hip.
These lingering issues can keep you at risk for future injures. However, with more information gathered from the gait analysis test, we can detect problems along the kinetic chain, and work towards making you a more resilient athlete, no matter what your sport!
2) The Force Plate Leg Press
Strength Test
Find your areas of strength and weaknesses with the force plate leg press test.
While the gait analysis test shows us functional movement, the leg press test dives into side to side strength symmetry, rate of force development, and force testing through the entire range of motion.
Used by the US Ski and Snowboard team, this piece of equipment is not only useful for testing, but also a great resource for strength training. With instant biofeedback, and programable sessions, you can get back to full symmetrical strength after any injury or setbacks.
