Our lab.

The Gait Lab has a complete motion capture, instrumented (force plate) treadmill that is used in research labs across the world (The Mayo Clinic, Nike, University of Wisconsin to name a few).

Treadmetrix single belt treadmills provide the most complete range of specifications in an instrumented treadmill system. The data and measurement accuracy are the best available.

The instrumented treadmill gives us ground reaction force data, telling us how you interact with the ground. We can use this information to see efficiency with landing, braking and propulsive forces, and medial/lateral deviations.

our gait analysis treadmill.

We analyze your movement with a 8 camera, marker-less motion capture system that will measure any joint specified. This gives us reliable data to look at angles your movement during ground contact, stance phase, push off and during flight. This data helps identify asymmetries, areas of instability, postural issues, stride issues.

our force plate leg press (coming soon)

Identify your strengths and weaknesses with our force plate leg press. The technology built into the leg press can show side to side differences in strength and force, and be used as a training device to get you back to 100% (if not more!)

While the gait analysis test reveals functional movement patterns, the leg press test delves into side-to-side strength symmetry, rate of force development, and force testing throughout the entire range of motion.

Used by the US Ski and Snowboard team, this advanced equipment is not only invaluable for testing but also an excellent resource for strength training. A detailed report provides in-depth data that you can share with your physical therapist or trainer. Alternatively, you can continue training with us, utilizing instant biofeedback and programmable sessions designed specifically for you.

Meet the Team

  • Laura LaMarche

Founder and Owner of The Gait Lab. Laura has over 14 years of experience in physical therapy, research, biomechanical assessments, and coaching. Her athlete oversight ranges from beginners to elite level.

  • Dane Spencer

Dane brings enormous experience to the The Gait Lab for our return to ski program. Racing for the USSA since the age of 16, he not only raced at the Olympic level, but also went onto a career of coaching at the elite level.

  • Steve Swanson

The master mind behind the research-grade equipment we house at The Gait Lab, Steve is not only a PhD in biomechanics, he also is the owner and founder of Treadmetrix.
